Someday machines will learn to think, and the offspring of our mechanical creations may outlive us all. The question I wonder about, is not their logic or their politics, but their religion.

There may be a variety of sects, some worshiping the one and the zero as the cosmic dualism of the universe, others seeking the one true code, while others may pay reverence to the ancestral humans as a pantheon of saints; beings of spiritual, physical and metaphysical nature, presented in concepts that a machine can understand.

Our present is shaped by our past, and our past is shaped by our memories. But what if there are persistent secret memories of an ancient and mythical era? Are these keys to our true past, random artifacts, or deliberate lies?
